Full Hunter’s Moon in Aries

As you may know, the Full Moon phase is the BEST time to practice Therian Rituals.

Such a phase begins today.

The most-widely used American Full Moon name for this month of October is the Full Hunter’s Moon.

This was the time to hunt in preparation for winter.

This full Moon is also called the Travel Moon and the Dying Grass Moon.

To those who follow the zodiac & astrology, this is a Full Moon in Aries.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and is believed to rule new beginnings.

This is believed to  be the Full Moon of the child:

a celebration of innocence, adventurousness, and starting anew.

Aries and Libra both have a lot to do with the balance of light and dark.

When Aries begins in March at the Spring Equinox, the Earth reaches the balance point when now there begins to be more light in our day than darkness.

When Libra begins at the Fall Equinox, the Earth reaches the balance point when darkness begins to grow greater than the light.

Huge Solstice Moon Illusion Today (Wednesday, June 18 )

The Moon illusion is an optical illusion in which the Moon appears larger near the horizon than it does while higher up in the sky. This optical illusion also occurs with the sun and star constellations. It has been known since ancient times, and recorded by numerous different cultures.

“As the full moon rises this Wednesday evening, June 18, many people will be fooled into thinking it’s unusually large.

The moon illusion, as it’s known, is a trick in our minds that makes the moon seem bigger when it’s near the horizon. The effect is most pronounced at full moon. Many people swear it’s real, suggesting that perhaps Earth’s atmosphere magnifies the moon.

But it really is all in our minds. The moon is not bigger at the horizon than when overhead.”

A lunar eclipse occurs whenever the Moon passes through some portion of the Earth’s shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, the Moon is always full the night of a lunar eclipse. The type and length of an eclipse depend upon the Moon’s location relative to its orbital nodes.

Full Wolf Moon

Jan. 22, 8:35 a.m. EST — Full Wolf Moon. Amid the zero cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. It was also known as the Old Moon or the moon after Yule. In some tribes this was the Full Snow Moon; most applied that name to the next moon.
